Aluminium Die Cast Inserts
Brophy Castings offer specialist aluminium die-cast inserts for integrated aluminium component manufacture.
Pre-threaded bosses, threaded studs and high strength bearing surfaces can be incorporated into the casting before the metal is poured.
Using inserts in the casting process allows for the use of materials with superior qualities to be used to assist with component performance in demanding applications.
Inserts can be provided free issue or Brophy Castings can supply a wide range on your behalf.
Materials suited to the aluminium casting process include all metals ranging from mild and stainless steel through to titanium, tungsten and brass.
Post cast inserts can be assembled by us where required for all types of standard threaded features such as wyw bolts, hooks and friction plates.
Inserts are commonly used where cast-in features are not practical or where material strength is an issue. Wheel bushes are commonly used for wheel applications such as go kart wheels. Inserts can also help reduce casting stress although this is a matter generally for the customer to determine where specific and particular performance characteristics are required.
